Who is Crazy Now?

Posted by livininsanity on July 8, 2008

In this week’s edition of Who is Crazy Now? I bring you WordPress, Dara Torres and MJ.  So, without further ado, Who is Crazy Now?…

WordPress - There is nothing like biting the hand that feeds you, so I figured what better way to be potentially banned than by biting really hard and calling WordPress crazy.  Let me explain, I use the term “crazy” very loosely.  Sometimes, it does not mean crazy at all – it could also mean dysfunctional or, even, way cool.  The reason WordPress makes this weeks list is because of it’s “Go to a random blog” feature – that white arrow in the upper right hand corner (go look at it, I’ll wait).  Okay, now that you’ve appeased your curiousity… let me tell you… wait for it… keep waiting… it’s not random.  Try it.  Seriously.  If you click that little arrow about twenty times, I can practically guarantee you that you’ll land the same blog(s) twice.  You will find at least one repeat, if not more.  That is not random.  And, therefore, WordPress is crazy.

Dara Torres – The 41 year old is crazy good.  She’s 41 years old and she’s going to the 2008 Olympics in Beijing, representing the United States in two events – the 50 and 100 meter freestyle.  Furthermore, she may race in a relay, but get this.  The 41 year old may pass on racing a relay.  Yes, pass, as in “no thanks.”  The fact that she’s 41 years old and has that choice is sheer CRAZY!  The woman is even racing faster than she ever has, setting an American record at the US Olympic Trials in the 50 meter freestyle.  The latest word is that Dara Torres may forego the 100 meter freestyle in order to focus on the 50 meter freestyle as well as relay races.  Whatever happens, Dara Torres, and the situation surrounding her, is crazy.

MJ – Who is MJ you say?  MJ is also knowa as Margeaux or, you could say, Marqeaux is also known as MJ.  She’s a blogger, but not just a blogger.  She is a blogger that will go to any ends to achieve her goal – acquiring more hits than any other blogger in human, or non-human existence.  Recently, she has reduced herself to bribery and coersion in order to increase her blog traffic.  That’s crazy, but the crazier thing is that it’s working.  I’m befuddled.  Anyway, her attempts at bribery and coersion can be seen here.

Given the Chance to be Certifiable… I am! Or, What Not to Do on a Hot Summer Day and A Tangent

Posted by livininsanity on June 11, 2008

Today, the temperature reached a high of 96 degrees in these parts – it was a hot, sunny day with a heat color index of orange (meaning if you spend the day in the sun, you’ll turn orange). So, given the circumstances, I spent the vast majority of the day in the sun. But, that wasn’t enough for a day like today. Once the sun went away, I needed to find another way to dehydrate myself. So, I played one and a half games of indoor soccer.
Of course, all this meant I drank closer to two gallons of liquid than one and a half gallons of liquid. Pretty close to two gallons. So, tomorrow, I’m going to swim in myself. (What?!?)
Forget that last bit, obviously the day has gotten to me. Did I mention I had less than four hours of sleep last night?
On a completely unrelated note, and only because I saw a bumper sticker today – If you are pro-life, what is your position on birth control?

What me Hot?

Posted by livininsanity on June 10, 2008

We’ve had some true summer weather lately, with temperatures in the 90′s and heat advisories and/or warnings being issued. Simultaneously, I’ve been outside quite a bit. Within about a minute, one is sweating in this heat, but, for some reason, I haven’t seemed to be bothered by the heat. Yet, there’s the sweat and the need for hydration, but it just doesn’t seem as hot as such temperatures used to seem. Perhaps, I’ve become more accustomed to it. Maybe my body chemistry is changing. Maybe it is a variety of factors, but for some reason, the summer heat doesn’t seem as sweltering as it used to. I want to be out in it. Does that sound crazy or what?
