The Application Process is Open (Double Entendre Intended)

Posted by livininsanity on June 26, 2008

I am accepting applications for a new blog to satiate my interests.  Don’t get me wrong, I will not be monogamous with your blog.  I am already in a committed relationship.  Actually, multiple relationships.  However, when it comes to blog life, I am polyamorous.  If you are unfamiliar with polyamory, feel free to visit Polyamory from the Inside Out for knowledge on the subject in the form of an on-going life memoir.  Or, if you already know a little about polyamory, the blog can offer a nice refresher.

See how friendly I am to those blogs I’m already dating?  You could be the recipient of such kindness.  All you have to do is pique my interest.  And, by interest, I mean… well, interest.  Seriously, we’re at 2.00% – see my previous post – that’s pretty low.

So, do you have what it takes to wine and dine me?  Can you be compelling on a first date?  Do you yearn to use urine in unique and useful ways?  Do you know what alliteration is?  Can you end questions with the word “is” and play it cool?  Are you also a polyamorous blogger?  If so, I am now officially accepting applications.  The comment field is officially open.

P.S. Don’t forget Blogging 101 is coming soon to a blog near you.

There Has Been a Disturbance in the Force…

Posted by livininsanity on June 5, 2008

… And it was sparked by my last political post (That one \/ down there).  Following the post below, someone commented almost immediately (and it included a link to the person’s blog).  First, let me say, I’m not so much a fan of links posted in comments.  Afterall, if done properly, your name can act as your link to your blog, and that’s fine.  As far as I’m concerned, (so far) anything else is extraneous.  Unless there’s a point (beyond self promotion) and this isn’t your first comment on my blog.  That said, one comment with one link isn’t a huge deal, but it’s reminiscient of forum posters who have one post and it includes a link – if not spam, it might as well be.

Anyway, I went to the person’s blog and commented.  I made what I thought was a pretty pertinent point.  I’m tired of the media (and the person’s blog) harping on every little mistake, etc…  I pointed out I thought it was nitpicking and to offer a comparison (beyond two solid points of evidence I offered) I pointed out that the person’s blog had some grammatical errors, if one wanted to be a nitpicker.  My point – why nitpick… we all make mistakes.  Subseqeuntly, my comment got deleted.

Apparently, this blogger does not allow discussion on his/her blog.  So, I removed the link included in the comment on my blog.   Subsequently, the blogger posted another comment on my blog (with link) about my removal of the link.  (Note, at the time, I had only removed the link and not the comment.)  Also, note the hypocrisy from the blogger who deleted my entire comment (although at least two thirds of it was highly suitable).  The blogger has since been classified as SPAM.  It is what it is.

I tried to allow discussion, but I failed.  There has been a disturbance in the force… I suppose politics is a heated topic.

ARGH!!! The Lord of Darkness Has Ensnared Me

Posted by livininsanity on April 23, 2008

Apparently, my involvement (I suppose) with a future article (don’t want to let the cat out of the bag yet) and maybe my posts on Worlds Colliding has resulted in my being tagged by Colby, which as far as I can tell is like a Satanic chain letter, only for blogs.  Except, THERE ARE RULES:

1) Link back to the person who tagged you (that= me!). 2) Post the rules on your blog. 3) Write six things about yourself. 4) Tag six people at the end of your post by posting links to their blog sites. 5) Let them know they’ve been tagged by leaving a comment on their site. 6) And let your tagger know when your entry is up.

 So without further ado:

1) I’m spontaneous enough to write about and promote newly formed awareness months promoting great, albeit controversial, topics.

2) Even if said process results in my being tagged by Satan’s spawn, or something like that.

3) I, apparently, am willing to go along with something reminsicient of a chain letter even though I categorically delete all chain letters without response.

4) I didn’t realize blogging could be such a chore

5) My Worlds are Colliding!!!

6) I’m capable of making a tag list merely about the tag list, thus revealing absolutely nothing about myself at all, in actuality.

Maybe these newly tagged people can do better:

Worlds Collide

Posted by livininsanity on April 22, 2008

Poly (yes, all my non-pop culture blog references will be to Poly until further notice) attempted to go from this: ”neither of us had ever so much as been naked with a member of the opposite sex before each other” to polyamory and I’m attempting to go from a total separation of Worlds – sans collisions – to some integrated intra-web of spidery blogginess and such, in which my boss contacts me via facebook.  It makes me cringe, but, then again, when I think about it, it doesn’t make ME cringe.  No, not at all… let me explain…

I am not me.  Nope.  I am the genetics of my parents.  Therefore, the genetics of my parents do not want World’s to collide.  Somehow, some way, somewhere along the way, I confused my parents genetic make-up with my own self.  This was highly short-sighted.  It’s probably the the same short-sighted or closed mindedness that Poly embraced before becoming Polyamorous.  And, I would surmise that it is the same with many people – we must overcome our predecessors and evolve.  So, I shall try – to let my Worlds crash into each other as much as they please, because, well, you can’t hurt me Worlds.  I’m invincible.  Although it is often nice to know I’m not talking into a void, like Poly.

Speaking of which, poly, poly, poly.

My head hurts.  Seriously, I’ve had a pounding headache all day and, for some reason, decided I would not take any form of medication for it.  I suppose the silly notion is somehow connected to my parents genetics and not my own actual beliefs.  So, it seems, I must try harder to break these chains that seem to keep me chained to a past that I have no interest in being a part of.  I figure if I put it in writing and submit it to the World, then it will happen faster, like when I mention collision of Worlds and they, supsequently, collide.

A Rant About Blogging Navigability and The Fear

Posted by livininsanity on April 21, 2008

I have a complaint about blogs without home buttons.  Fortunately, I am one of the lucky ones whose blog contains a home button.  For me, this button is crucial.  I’m always getting lost in a blog – on a comment page or just on a specific post.  And, you know what, I often just wanna go home.  So, please, if you have a blog and you want me to visit, help a blogger out and give me a little love in form of a button or link that will easily take me home and is located on every page.  Thanks

Furthermore, it’s not just the lack of home buttons that hampers my navigability, it’s the lack of cogent navigability.  For example, I’ve been catching up on a blog that I recently learned of, so I’m reading archived posts.  Well, anytime I leave a comment, I get stuck in limbo, forcing myself to search through the blog to return to where I was.

Now that I’m done ranting about the logistics of blogging, I must admit, I have the fear.  The belief that I can not truly keep it real on my blog due the inevitability that anyone anywhere in the World can view my blog at any time.  I don’t know how prevalent such a fear is, but I’m concerned that it’s holding me back.

I grew up not wanting my World’s to collide and, historically, did a relatively decent job of keeping my World’s separate.  If you’re not familiar with collision of World’s it was easily summed up by George Costanza on Seinfeld when he ranted about the collision of Independant George and Relationship George – two separate and distinct Worlds that he never wanted to co-mingle.  I’ve held a similar viewpoint, historically, although I’m not sure it’s the most productive.  To that end, I would like to encourage comments on the matter.  Thanks for reading.

It’s a Bloggy Blog World

Posted by livininsanity on April 20, 2008

It’s a bloggy blog world out ther with all these blogs fighting for attention.  Poly (see “Kickin’ blogs” on the sidebar) seems to be doing quite well by talkin’ about lesbians and sex and the intersection of the two.  Hey Poly, what happens if you’re feelings eventually fail to align with your beleifs of polyamory?  I raise the question for a couple reasons.  First, to have only had sex with one person (the husband) and to be polyamorous sounds like a conundrum.  I’m not saying it is, but it sounds like one.  Kind of like saying, “I love Italian food, but I’ve never had pizza.”

I’ve had some dreams the past two nights that have been characterized by a sense of unease.  Admittedly, I do not remember the dreams, but I feel the sense.  I think a certain person from my past my be involved in the dreams because the unease I feel gives me an indication.  To elaborate, I think this person’s feelings ended up contradicting stated beliefs, which is the other reason I bring up the question of misalignment of feelings and beliefs.

Poly, after browsing your blog, I have another question (nothing like trying to create an intra-blog discourse, eh?)… I believe you mentioned somewhere (can’t necessarily find it right now, and not sure exactly where I read it) about changing names when creating your blog, for annonymity sake, which makes perfect sense, but then I saw you posted a picture… so I’m left baffled at what seems more conundrumatic than my previous point.  Was I mistaken about your annonymity comment or is there another explanation to this conundrum?

P.S. I just created a category titled “Poly” … crazy.
