Speaking of Commitment

I’m not a fan of commitment.  It cramps my style.  This can probably be easily ascertained by reading the previous post (below).  However, before writing that post, my back-handed alter ego made a commitment to be a part of a blog chain.  Although I’m not a fan of commitment, I tend to try to follow through.  That being said, I’ve created a page, which delineates the blog chain participants.  However, it appears that not all (nay, not even most) participants have posted such a list.  See, having a blog on wordpress allows me certain insights – like the fact that although I think the current time is 9:50 pm on Monday, April 7th, wordpress knows better.  In actuality, according to my wonderful blog stat mechanism, today is April 8th.  I’m not sure when this happened, but it did.  Good to know someone’s trying to keep my head on straight.  But, that’s not the only information wordpress offers.  Additionally, it informs me of incoming links, which I appear to have five of.  (Yes, I enjoy ending sentences with words like “of.”)  Simple math tells me that five is too few in comparison to the thirteen blog chain participants.  Surprisingly, I do not even need wordpress’ help for this calculation.  Since the blog chain started over 24 hours ago, I think it’s nearing time to post these wonderful links.  While I can understand some extenuating circumstances, overall, 5 out of 12 (everyone other than myself) is not adequate.  So, the only people getting my front page stamp of approval are the five who stuck with the incredible commitment:

Afterall, I gave up my commitment to be uncommited to my brand new blog just to follow through on the commitment of the blog chain, so I expect some similar form of commitment… or next time I won’t give up my commitment to be uncommited.

Inaugural Edition – Humor Writing

Last week, I used the words “Cooter,” “Licking” and “Conception” in a four word span in an article and got paid for it.  Additionally, that same article contained the phrases “Show me Cooter,” “Show me Licking” and “Show me Conception.”  And, I still got paid.  The article even correlated the three  to the “welfare of the people” and, henceforth, “the supreme law” in Missouri whose state motto is “The welfare of the people shall be the supreme law.”  The planets have indeed aligned and something is right with the world.  And I’m getting paid for it.
